Team USA Adds Former Amerks to Deutschland Cup; Path to the Olympics

USA Hockey announced the roster for Team USA headed to the Deutschland Cup tournament in Germany from November 10-12th and it includes some former Rochester Americans along with Rochester native Brian Gionta. This is a lead up to the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea as players try to make the final cut to compete for gold.

David Leggio – The Amerks leading goaltender for two seasons. Played in 54 games in 2011/2012 with 28 wins, 24 losses, 2 ties and 2.63 GAA. Played in 64 games in 2012/2013 and had 38 wins, 24 losses, 1 tie and a 2.56 GAA.

Noah Welch – Played in 11 games in 2006/2007 for 2 goals and 4 assists and 7 games in 2008/2009 and had 3 assists.

Bobby Sanguinetti – Played 40 games in the 2015/2016 season and scored 7 goals and had 8 assists.

Matt Donovan – Played in 73 games during the 2015/2016 season and scored 8 goals and had 23 assists.

And current practice squad member Brian Gionta who has been skating with the Amerks in preparation for this.
