All is Quiet on the Affiliation Front

Ever since the initial news that there had been talks between Terry Pegula and Curt Styres and potential hurdles, things have been quiet about the potential purchase, and for good reason.  It’s likely both sides signed documents to not talk about it so that the sale would not be made in the press and negotiations would go smoothly.

Now that the Stanley Cup has been awarded and the Winnipeg situation has been resolved everything should be falling into place.

The fact that everything has been very quiet could mean a number of things but more than anything at least it means talks have not broken down. If they had, I’m sure someone somewhere would have heard something.

The NHL Draft is next weekend, June 24 and 25th, which gives a current window of between now and next Thursday at the latest for something to be announced.. if not we’ll have to wait until after the draft. It would be great to have some news before the start of free agency as there are a lot of great players available for The AHL level this summer.

The Buffalo Sabres are holding a Sabre Summit this evening (Thursday) with a group of Sabres bloggers and the Amerks came up right away and was answered with a “no comment.”  For more info check out http://www.diebytheblade.com and http://www.thegoosesroost.com/ along with searching hashtag #SabreSummit on Twitter.

As the old saying goes, no news is good news.  I guess?
